Appointment Questions
What will I owe at the visit?
Our staff will check your insurance benefits a few days prior to your appointment, and we will always let you know our best estimate of your responsibility before you are seen for your appointment. If you would like to know further ahead of time, we ask that you request this information beforehand or give us a call the day or two before your appointment.
How long do new patient forms take to complete?
Please allow 15-30 minutes to fill out the forms, but if you want to take lots of time, we have them available on our website on the FORMS tab, or we would be happy to email them to you ahead of time!
Which office is my appointment at?
We have 3 offices, two in Wesley Chapel that are facing each other (North and South side), and one in Trinity. Please confirm when making your appointment. Sometimes in Wesley Chapel your appointments can be in both offices with two different providers but it is a short walk between offices (about 40 feet).
How can I access the patient portal/see my records?
You can log into your patient portal here. Contact us if you need your login information.
Do you see children?
Yes! We love children, and can provide care for your whole family from babies to seniors!
Do you take Medicaid? What plans do you accept?
We do accept most commercial insurances and also Medicare and Tricare. Our practice is currently closed to Medicaid patients. We also do not accept Cigna Baycare as we are out of network. Please call us if you have questions about a specific plan.
Do I need a referral?
If you have an HMO plan, then most likely yes! Please check with your insurance if you need a referral for a specialist visit. The referral comes from your primary care doctor and they may need a week or two to process this. Please see this page for more information: FAQ on Referrals and Authorizations
Will my insurance cover these services?
We do check your benefits before your appointment and will let you know if we find out that any services will not be covered. If you would also like to check with your insurance company before your visit, we would be happy to provide you with possible CPT codes for your inquiry.
When is payment due/Can you bill my insurance?
We ask that you pay for services on the day of your visit. If we underestimate your balance, you may receive a bill from us once your claim processes. If we overestimate, we will send you a refund back to your credit card or mail you a check if you paid by cash/check.
Will you email/call me with an appointment reminder?
Depending on how many days it is until your appointment, we may email you, call you, and/or text you to remind you of your appointment. Please be sure to give us your email and cell phone number!
Allergy Questions
How do we schedule for allergy tests? Can it be done on the first visit?
We schedule your initial visit with the doctor or nurse practitioner to evaluate your condition and to determine if we can safely and effectively test you for allergies in our office. The next step would be to schedule the skin prick allergy testing in our office, or order blood allergy labs.
What allergy treatments do you offer?
We offer treatment with sublingual immunotherapy, also called under the tongue drops, allergy drops, SLIT, or oral immunotherapy. We also offer weekly allergy shots in our office.
Sleep Questions
Do you perform sleep studies in your office?
We do not. Our physicians will order the study if needed, recommend some facilities, and interpret the results to create an action plan.
What facilities do you refer out to?
It is up to your insurance if they will cover a sleep study in a facility, sometimes they require a home sleep test. You may get equipment shipped to your home to complete the study in your own bed.
Audio Questions
Do I have benefits for hearing aids?
It depends on your insurance. Medicare does not cover hearing aids. You would need to check with your insurance plan, or we can help you with this step to find out if they will pay for a portion or all of your hearing aids.
How long does a hearing test take?
Please allow 30 minutes for an audiologic evaluation. If you would like to discuss hearing aids, we would need more time, up to an hour.
Why do I need a hearing test for dizziness/vertigo?
Some of the most common causes of dizziness arise from problems in your inner ear, and audiologic testing evaluates the hearing portion of a patient’s ear. This testing is important for dizzy patients because small unnoticed hearing changes can indicate inner ear damage or other medical problems.
What is the process if there is hearing loss?
We will schedule you for a hearing aid consultation with one of our doctors of audiology.
What should I expect during the hearing aid consultation?
There is evidenced based research that has demonstrated the emotional and cognitive effects of hearing loss. Our audiologists strive to educate you regarding your hearing test results and hearing loss once one of our ENT physicians has medically assessed your hearing test results. Our audiologist will dedicated this time to educate you on the benefits of hearing aids and guide you as to which is the best hearing solution for your lifestyle.
