Comprehensive ENT Services
Dr. Scotch helps patients with non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers, including:
- Basal cell carcinoma β The most common form of cancer, basal cell carcinoma can appear as open sores, shiny bumps, or red patches. It typically does not metastasize, or spread to other areas of the body.
- Squamous cell carcinoma β This form of skin cancer can appear as scaly patches, elevated growths with a central depression, or an unusual wart. It most commonly occurs in sun-exposed areas and can spread to other parts of the body if left untreated.
- Melanoma β Although melanoma is among the rarest forms of skin cancer, it is the deadliest. Melanoma typically manifests as a new mole with an asymmetrical border, or as a growth from an existing mole.
We usually recommend that patients with any type of suspicious skin lesion undergo a biopsy, which Dr. Scotch can perform in our office. If the results from the biopsy indicate that the growth should be removed, Dr. Scotch will use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to remove the lesion while preserving surrounding healthy tissues and enhancing facial aesthetics.
